Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

Blake Bortles, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars, 47% owned

Bortles has started to put up some numbers for the Jaguars. He has thrown for 300+ the last two weeks and 298 the week before. He threw four touchdowns last week and three this week. He needs to cut his interceptions, but if he does that, his numbers should continue to rise.

The Jaguars play the Bills next week, then they have a bye. After they play the Jets, they have the Ravens, Titans, Chargers, and Titans again. Those could all be big games for Bortles.

Thomas Rawls, RB, Seattle Seahawks, 49.1% owned

Rawls has had some big weeks (at Cincinnati, Chicago), but he has had some not so big weeks (at St. Louis, at Green Bay, Carolina). He has two 100 yard rushing games this season, but he has only scored one touchdown. He is Marshawn Lynch’s backup, and he does get some caries.

With games in San Francisco and Dallas, then home games against the Cardinals and 49ers, it is possible that Rawls could rack up some yards and a touchdown or two.

Rishard Matthews, WR, Miami Dolphins, 45.6% owned

Matthews has hat at least 13.4 points against everybody but the Jets. The Dolphins have already had their bye, so Matthews will be available for the rest of the season, barring injury.

With a new head coach, the Dolphins look fired up. They have the Texans at home before traveling to face the Patriots, the Bills, and the Eagles. Those may be tough games, but look for Matthews to get some catches in those games.

Ladarius Green, TE, San Diego Chargers, 15.5% owned

Green is coming off of three straight double-digit performances. Even with Antonio Gates returning, Green is getting some good looks in the red zone. He had three catches for 35 yards and a touchdown in Green Bay, good for 12.5 points.

The Chargers are home against the Raiders, at Baltimore, and home against Chicago before their bye week. Green has a very good chance to score some points in those games. The Chargers also have two games against Kansas City, one against Jacksonville and Miami, and another game against Oakland.
