With their 2-0 away victory against Brighton and other results working in their favor, Watford successfully clincheed their spot for the 2015-2016 Premier League season. With only one week left in English League Championship, Watford was able to succeed in their main objective of the season, and will be back for the first time since their 2006-07 season.

Watford went up in the 29′ minute after a couple of bad clearances from Brighton, Troy Deeney took advantage and scored with his right foot to put Watford up one-nil.

Brighton controlled the game in ball possession, but were not able to open their score sheet. Lastly, into the fifth minute of aggregate time, Watford sealed the victory with a perfect counter attack. Matej Vydra finished successfully, one versus one against the goalkeeper and earned three very valuable points for Watford.

This victory puts Watford in the lead with 88 points. It does not matter what happens in the last week as both second place Bournemouth and third place Middlesbrough have 84 points and will not be able to catch Watford. Congratulations to Watford’s players and staff on their promotion to the Barclay’s English Premier League and we wish them a successful 2015/16 season.
