After spending the first part of the baseball season off the field, Kendrys Morales finally found a suitor for his bat. His new home will be the same city that his hosting this years 2014 All-Star Game, yes that’s right it’s Minnesota. Coming out of left field the Twins were the winning team that finally signed Kendrys Morales to a 1-Year, $7 million dollar contract. With Morales signed that may mean Jason Kubel is gone, and Josh Willingham and Arcia will be playing the corner outfield positions.

Morales spent the 2013 season with the Mariners and hit .277 with 23 home runs and 80 RBI in 156 games. The previous six years were with the Los Angeles Angels, where he amassed 79 home runs, and a .281 batting average.

With the Morales signing the Twins are showing that they are not going to be pushovers during the 2014-15 season. They are only 5 games out of first place and still have plenty of time to make a run into the playoffs. Morales will be hitting in-between Mauer and Willingham while Dozier and Plouffe will also benefit. The squad has been inconsistent offensively and could use a proven hitter like Morales.

It shall take Morales some time to get used to major league level pitching again. He may need multiple rehab games down in Triple-A but with Morales being as seasoned of a hitter as he is he should be able to help and produce for the Twins rather quickly.
