Drafting a running back in the NFL draft number 1 overall might be a crazy thing these days, but it is certainly not crazy at all in fantasy football. In fact, most of the 1st round in as of the leagues around the world will be littered with running backs. Here is a look at the top 10 going into the final week of the NFL preseason.

LeSean McCoy

He led the NFL in rushing yards last year, and he could be even better in 2014. He is going to get plenty of touches in the offense for Philadelphia.

Adrian Peterson

He is about as dependable as they come in fantasy football. Minnesota will still be using him as the focal point of the offense.

Jamaal Charles

Charles was the best running back in the NFL last year by fantasy football standards, but it will be hard for him to lived up to expectations in 2014. Kansas City is hoping that he can once again be a menace on the field.

Matt Forte

Chicago has a very strong passing game, but it is the running game that will help them possibly make a Super Bowl run. Forte was excellent last year, and he should be even better in 2014.

Eddie Lacy

Green Bay is built around Aaron Rodgers and the passing game, but Lacy has a chance to be a very good player this upcoming season. With all that open room to work with, his numbers for the outstanding in fantasy football.

Calvin Johnson

As far as wide receivers go, Johnson is in a class of his own. He is so highly regarded that he is a 1st rounder in almost every single week. Only an injury would hold him back in 2014.

Marshawn Lynch

The starting running back for the Seattle Seahawks has been magnificent for the last several seasons, and not much should change in 2014. He is a very smart runner, and that should allow him to have a decent amount of success.

Peyton Manning

Much like Johnson, Manning is able to dominate his position and move into the 1st round. He is a quarterback who is really getting up there in age, but the offense in Denver is built around him to have success.

Arian Foster

Injuries concerns surround him, but Foster is one of the best in the game when on. He now has the Houston job all to himself with Ben Tate in Cleveland.

Jimmy Graham

All offseason, Graham tried to prove that he is a tight end, not a wide receiver. He might be a tight end technically, but he is probably the 2nd best receiver in the entire NFL as far as fantasy football is concerned. He sneaks into the 1st round in most leagues.
