Samporia found the back of the net in the 33rd minute as Lorenzo De Silvestre rose above the rest to find Luis Muriel’s corner.
They were able to double the lead in the 77th and seal the points with Samuel Eto’os first goal for Sampdoria. A great goal it was as he controlled a high pass with his chest and turned with pressure on to blast the bouncing ball into a tight corner.
Sampdoria are still four points away from fourth place, but their recent form has been very good and Eto’os gaining form will be a factor in the final third of the season.
