Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees completed 40 of his 50 pass attempts for 511 yards and seven touchdowns (eight if you include the interception by Trumaine McBride that he ran in for a touchdown). The seven touchdown passes ties an NFL record, joining Y.A. Tittle, Adrian Burk, George Blanda, Sid Luckman, Joe Kapp, Nick Foles, and Peyton Manning.

Defensive Player of the Week

Denver Bronco Defense

The Bronco defense kept the high flying Packer offense grounded. They gave up just 140 total yards, including 77 passing yards from Aaron Rodgers, in the entire game. If you subtract the yardage lost on three sacks, the Packers only gained 50 yards on passing plays.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Marcus Sherels, CB, Minnesota Vikings

Sherels had three punt returns for a total of 77 yards. He ran his first punt return went for a 65-yard touchdown to put the Vikings on the board.
