Offensive Player of the Week

Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans Saints

It was uncertain if Brees would be able to be effective after suffering a bruised rotator cuff two weeks ago. That uncertainty disappeared quickly. Brees would finish the game against the Dallas Cowboys by going 33 for 41 for 359 yards and three touchdowns. On the second play in overtime, he threw a short pass to C.J. Spiller that ended up being an 80-yard game-winning touchdown. With that touchdown, Brees became just the fifth quarterback to throw for 400 touchdowns in his career.

Defensive Player of the Week

Josh Norman, CB, Carolina Panthers

Norman made a game-saving interception last week against the New Orleans Saints, and this week he had two interceptions. He ran the first interception 46 yards to the end zone. Norman returned the second interception 34 yards to set up another touchdown.

Santos set a franchise record by kicking seven field goals. He accounted for all of the Chiefs’ scoring in a 36-21 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Santos made field goals from 22, 40, 51, 34, 40, 29, and 51 yards.
