Manchester United was looking to find a victory after they gave up their third place to Arsenal. Newcastle United placing 11th faced the red devils at home.
Ashley Young gave the red devils three very valuable points in a late winning goal in the 89th minute. After a great pressured by Wayne Rooney the Newcastle defense were not able to clear the ball and passed back a deadly ball to Tim Krul who unsuccessfully cleared the ball to the feet of Ashley Young. Ashley Young with a wide open goal took advantage of the mistake and scored a late winning goal.
Manchester United struggled but were able to get a victory on the road. Manchester United remain 4th with 53 points, just one point away from Arsenal. With the lost, Newcastle now places 11th in the Premier League. Manchester United will receive the Spurs at Old Trafford as for Newcastle will visit Everton.
