Palermo 0-1 Juventus
Palermo’s three game winless streak was increased as they were unable to take any points from the league leaders. Juventus look just as solid as ever and increased their lead atop Serie A to fourteen points.
After a series of good attacks, Juventus was finally able to score in the 70th minute. Claudio Marchisio lobbed a ball forward to Alvaro Morata, who controlled the ball, turned, and unleashed a great curling shot that beat the Palermo keeper at the far post.
Juventus’ giant lead ahead of the rest of the contenders may have them believing that the Scudetto is in the bag, but they have other matters to worry about. They will face Borussia Dortmund on the road in the Champions’ League on Wednesday the 18th after winning the home leg by just 2-1. They will need to be careful as a 1-0 win will be enough to see Dortmund advance to the quarter-finals. With many players enjoying good form including Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba, they will be confident going to Germany, but the “Yellow Wall of Dortmund” is always intimidating.
