Liverpool got their man. Having been linked to Manchester United and Liverpool, Roberto Firmino has signed with Liverpool and is subjected to completing a medical after the Copa America.
After four and a half seasons in the Bundesliga, it is reported that the the 23-year old Brazilian international will arrive at Anfield for £29 million, making him the second highest record signing, behind Andy Carroll who signed in 2011 from Newcastle United for £35 million.
It is said on Liverpool’s official website, “The forward made 151 appearances in league and cup for the German club, netting 47 goals, after joining them from Figueirense in December 2010”. He has Made nine appearances for Brazil, netting four times including the winner in the 2-1 win over Venezuela on the weekend
This is Liverpool’s fifth signing after already recruited Danny Ings precedent of Burnley, Manchester City’s midfielder James Milner, Charlton Athletic defender Joe Gomez and Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan.
