Juventus 2-0 Lazio
Juventus got back to winning ways and against a hopeful team, after their 1-0 loss to Parma last weekend. Andrea Pirlo returned from injury after being out since the first leg against Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16 of the Champions League in February.
Arturo Vidal set-up Carlos Tevez, flicking a ball over to him with his head. Tevez attacked with the ball quickly and slotted the ball into the low far corner of the goal in the 17th minute. Tevez just cannot stop scoring!
Leonardo Bonucci doubled the lead in the 28th minute receiving a ball in the midfield then attacking the goal eventually meeting the top of the box before unleashing a low effort into the low corner to beat the keeper.
Lazio mainted a majority of the possession, but Juventus’ attack was much too strong. Lazio shot seventeen times, but only five of those on target and only tested Gianluigi Buffon a few times throughout the match. Meanwhile Juventus had four of six shots on target. This shows the quality of Juventus’ attacking squad.
Juventus now has an enormous lead of 15 points. There is still no doubt that Juventus will take home the Scudetto at this point in the League. Now they will focus on defeating Monaco for a spot in the Champions League Semi-Finals on Wednesday.
Lazio’s ten-game unbeaten run ends against the leaders. They remain second place, but Roma has a chance to regain their place against Atalanta on Sunday. Even so, Lazio enjoy an eight point gap from fourth place and should remain confident that they can remain in the top three spots for Champions League play.
