Jose Mourinho insists that Chelsea captain John Terry will remain with the club next season, but also admits that he is unsure about the future of goalkeeper Petr Cech.

The the 34-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of the season and Chelsea boss Mourinho, who made a statement in December that he has no doubts that he is going to get another contract, on Tuesday confirmed that a deal to keep the ex-England International at Stamford Bridge will be agreed in the coming weeks.

He told reporters ahead of Wednesday night’s London derby clash with West Ham United that a deal with Terry will be agreed before the end of the season for sure. He also guaranteed that Terry will be a Chelsea player next season.

He also said that he knows what the board and the player tells him, so there are no doubts he is going to get his contract.

On the other hand, Mourinho is not so certain about the prospects of goalkeeper Cech remaining at Stamford Bridge beyond the current campaign.

Cech has been at Stamford Bridge for more than a decade, but he may be tempted to move on after losing his regular first-team starting spot to Thibaut Courtois.

Mourinho said that Petr does not like anyone to persuade him. He makes his decision and when he will make it, he will make the best decision for him and his future and Jose will have to wait.

Jose Mourinho also mentioned that he hopes that Cech will stay, but he will not waste his time trying because nobody tells Cech what to do. He also hailed him as one of the three best goalkeepers in the world.
