Hellas Verona 2-0 Napoli

Napoli lost the chance to find themselves just one point away from second place, whilst Verona would just be happy to gain some confidence and prepare for the rest of the season.

Verona opened up the game with some great team and individual play. Juan Taleb did well to move past two defenders and was able to get the ball to Luca Toni, who turned with it beautifully and fought the defender to poke the ball under the keeper’s legs, reaching the rebound to smash the ball home.

Toni grabbed his second of the night to seal the deal in the 51st minute. Emil Hallfredsson‘s cross was deflected to Toni and he reached his leg out behind him to get strong contact with the ball, hitting it hard towards the near post.

Napoli brought on Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Callejon, but they were both unable to change the outcome.

Napoli remain fourth and next face Dinamo Moscow in the Europa League on March 19th, where they hold a 3-1 advantage over the Russian side agreed the first leg.
