The sweet science has always been a big attraction in the city of Brotherly love. Tonight was no exception. The 2300 Arena played host to Showtime’s Friday Night Fights. On display was a plethora of the brightest young stars in boxing. And they did not disappoint. Hard Hitting Promotions put on a full card of action packed fights featuring fighters in multiple weight class. A line up sure to delight all manor of fight fans
The Action Was Early And Often
Knockouts were on display early on in the night with the first two bouts ending in referee stoppages. The most vicious of the two came at the hands of young up and comer Benny “The Jewish Bulldog” Sinakin. Sinakin make quick work of his opponent Darrin Gibbs with a TKO inside the opening 3 minutes. Furthermore, the South Philadelphia native showcased just why many believe he has the potential to be a future star in the world of boxing. Sinakin did an excellent job of cutting off the boxing ring and walking his opponent down. Therefore, when the time was right he had no problem showing he can close the show.
A Bully From The Bad Lands and A Philly Favorite and Cap Off The Night
Branden Pizarro who hails from the city of Philadelphia’s Bad Lands section was a joy to watch. Furthermore, brings a level of showmanship to boxing not seen since the days of Roy Jones Jr. His defense is impeccable and was showcased as he constantly made his counter part Jerome Rodriguez look silly at times. The young man know as “The Gift” was electrifying land several precise combinations. However, his performance was not with out its faults. His tendency to let his defense laps at times resulted in the 19 year old catching an hellacious right hand during the 3rd round. Although, he struggled at times in the middle rounds he flourished in the end leaving no doubt to his boxing prowess and picking up an unanimous decision victory. A victory which made him the new NBA Intercontinental Super Lightweight Champion.
Ennis Sparkles
The Final bought of boxing for the night concluded with a thunderous 2nd round knock out by Phill native Jaron “Boots” Ennis. Ennis showcased blazing speed and precision will quickly dispatching his overwhelmed opponent. With the victory Ennis moved to a impressive 22-0 record. Furthermore the win establishes the young fighter as a knockout artist as this was his 20th stoppage in 22 fights.
