The East Carolina Pirates end a 4 game losing streak in bowl games with a win over the Ohio Bobcats 37-20.

Impact Players

Passing:  Shane Carden East Carolina 29/45, 273 passing yards, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions.

Rushing: Vintavious Cooper East Carolina 25 carries, 198 yards, 7.9 Yds/C, 2 touchdowns.

Receiving: Donte Foster Ohio 6 receptions, 160 yards, 26.7 average, 1 touchdown, 80 long.

Vintavious Cooper had an incredible performance as he rushed for  198 yards with 2 touchdowns in only 25 carries. Shane Carden also came up big for the Pirates in this game passing for 273 yards throwing 2 touchdowns and completing 64.4% of his passes. As a team overall, the defense showed why they deserved to play in a bowl game because in the 2nd half they forced 3 turnovers including two interceptions in the 4th quarter.

As stated above, East Carolina ended a 4 game losing streak in bowl games by beating Ohio. East Carolina’s head coach Ruffin McNeill received his first bowl win as the Pirates head coach.

Next season the East Carolina program moves out of the C-USA and into the American Athletic Conference in which they are going to play teams by the name of UCF, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Houston.
