In a freezing cold Stillwater, Oklahoma and Dallas, Texas, #17 Oklahoma upset #6 Oklahoma State and won 33-24 while No.16 UCF escaped Dallas to get a victory over SMU, 17-13.

Now, since Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State, the game in Waco just got a lot more interesting as the winner between #25 Texas and #9 Baylor takes the BIG 12 conference and gets a bid to the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. Oklahoma State started the game on the first play running for a 75 yard touchdown, but eventually was called back after a holding penalty. They would eventually score a touchdown on that same drive. Flags hurt Oklahoma State throughout the game. 7 total in the game, 4 on the first drive.

Late in the 1st quarter, Jalen Saunders returned a punt for a touchdown for the Sooners and the game was then tied 7-7. This game was also full of tricks and long plays. Oklahoma faked a FG  and converted to tie the game up late in the 3rd at 17 all.

Late in the 4th, the Cowboys were down 24-20 but managed to score a touchdown. Unfortunately, they gave Oklahoma too much time, leaving them with 1:46 remaining. Oklahoma capitalized off of the opportunity with a TD, putting them up 27-24 with 19 seconds left. The Cowboys would fail to score and on the last play Clint Chelf fumbled and the Oklahoma defense scored off of it making the final score 33-24. Oklahoma State could have clinched the BIG 12 with a win.

In Waco, Texas, the UCF Knights escaped Dallas with a win over the SMU Mustangs 17-13. SMU started out strong on both sides of the ball, getting on the board first, 3-0. Throughout the game, both defenses were playing hard hitting D. The Knights only allowed 313 yards and the Mustangs allowed 338.

For the Mustangs, this was a make or break game. After that loss, the Mustangs won’t be in a bowl game this season falling to 5-7 overall. As for the Knights, they won the AAC and are currently projected to play against Auburn in the Allstate Sugar Bowl on January 2. The Knights finished 11-1 overall on the season.
