The wait is finally over! The Chicago Cubs can now call up Kris Bryant and not lose a year of team control. Tomorrow morning Bryant should get called up to the big league team as he will now be part of the Cubs in what is considered a partial season. 172 days on the big league team is taken as a full season, starting tomorrow there will be 171 days in the MLB season. This means that the Cubs will have Bryant for the rest of this season and for the next six years.

Kris Bryant will be promoted while the Cubs have a 5-3 record and are tied for first place in the NL Central division with the St. Louis Cardinals. The question is whether Bryant could have had an impact on those three losses Chicago currently has. We will never know, but what we do know is that he is still at a very good time to come up and contribute a lot to his team.

Not only will Bryant bring his powerful bat to the lineup, but he will give the Cubs a consistent third base option. The Cubs have used numerous players at the third base position already this early in the season. Tommy La Stella, Mike Olt, Jonathan Herrera, and Arismendy Alcantara have all had at least one start at third base this season.

Kris Bryant will get his opportunity to see if he can translate all his minor league and Spring Training success into success in the bigs. Cubs fans have a reason to get excited.
