After a very rough start to the season, the Texas Rangers have now been playing much better baseball. The Rangers are currently sitting in second place of the AL West division and while they have suffered some injuries to key players like Josh Hamilton and Adrian Beltre, it has opened the door for some of the Rangers top prospects.

Joey Gallo came up and had a tremendous debut with three hits including a home run, showing that Gallo has a very promising future in the big leagues and today we got a taste of what Chi Chi Gonzalez could do at this level.

The rookie hurler threw a complete game shutout against the Kansas City Royals in what was his second career start. In two starts, Gonzalez has pitched 14.2 innings and is yet to allow a run. Although he only has 4 strikeouts in both of his starts combined, it is still a very promising start to his career.

In a season where the Rangers appeared to not be contending, they have began to use their young talent and combined it with some consistency from their veteran players like Prince Fielder and have created a nice balance to keep them in the race for the division.
