Chelsea Three Points Away From a League Title

Chelsea were visiting Leicester to play a game that has been pending to complete their 34th game of the season. Chelsea were six points away from a league tittle and they were going to Leicester to try to obtain three. Leicester placing in 17th with one point ahead of 18th place, had a very important game ahead. They will try to get as far away as possible from the last three regulation places.

With little bit of action in the first half and Chelsea leading in ball possession, Leicester was able to get ahead in the 45th minute. After a perfect through ball on the left side by Jamie Vardy, Robert Huth played a set back towards the penalty area. Gary Cahill, unfortunately slipped for the blues and Marc Albrighton took advantage and put it in the back of the net.

Just three minutes into the second half, Chelsea was able to tie the game after a perfect set back from Branislav Ivanovic to Didier Drogba. Drogba scored his first goal in 2015 tonight for the Blues.

With Chelsea going for three points and control of the game, they kept getting closer and closer to find their second goal of the night. Minute 79″ after a corner kick taken to first post, Gary Cahill went up high and head the ball towards second post. Kasper Schmeichel reacted perfectly and denied the header, but left a second option available. John Terry was there alert to tap the ball in and give the blues the lead.

Seven minutes before the end of the game, Ramires sealed the victory for the blues. After a perfect set back at the edge of the box by Cesc Fabregas, Ramires struck the ball with the inside of his left into the top left corner. Beautiful finish by Ramires, and this was Fabregas 17th assist this season.

With this victory, the blues led by Jose Mourinho can crown themselves League Champions this Sunday as they receive Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea has thirteen victories, three draws, and zero defeats at Stanford Bridge this season.
