Manchester City has had an irregular 2015 season, missing a good opportunity this weekend. They got the opportunity to visit 18th place Burnley on Saturday and the result was disappointing.

Manchester City attacked from the very first minute and had 70% ball possession throughout the game, but it was not enough to find the back of the net. Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko left Turf Moor scoreless.

Minute 61′, Burnley had a free kick opportunity and decided to put the ball across. Vincent Kompany went up and made a bad clearance that landed on George Boyd‘s left foot, who struck one time and found the back of Joe Hart’s goal.

With this defeat, the Citizens’ dream of another Premier League title is starting to get away as they sit 5 points behind Chelsea, who have played two less games. Not only that, but the Citizens are only one point ahead of Arsenal, who currently sit in third. Burnley continue to sit in 18th place but are only one point behind Sunderland.

The Citizens have to react quickly and Manuel Pellegrini has to quickly change things around before they lose hope in all competitions. This upcoming week, they have to visit Camp Nou as they face the leaders of La Liga, Barcelona, in their second leg of the Champions League round of 16. Barcelona currently leads 2-1. When the return to Premier League play, they will face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and hope to turn things around.
