The Buffalo Sabres have traded goaltender Ryan Miller and forward Steven Ott to the St. Louis Blues, in exchange for goaltender Jaroslav Halak, forward Chris Stewart, prospect forward Wiliam Carrier, 1st round pick in 2015, and a 3rd round pick in 2016.

In a season filled with turmoil in Buffalo, the rebuilding process is in full swing.

The Sabres made moves that will help the future, especially locking in another first round pick in this years draft.

Chris Stewart was drafted 18th overall in the first round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Colorado Avalanche.

Carrier was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the 2nd round (57th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

St. Louis will improve their already strong goaltender core. Adding a hard nose player like Steve Ott, will help bring an aggressive style.

The Blues may have just become the best team in the West.
