Shortly after the Chicago Blackhawks finished off their 2-0 Stanley Cup clinching victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the team announced its plans for their Victory parade and rally.
The club is switching up things from their million man march at Grant Park during the 2013 Parade.
Instead of using Grant Park to hold the million-plus fans that attended that hot June afternoon, the Blackhawks decided that Soldier Field, the 60,000+ seat stadium used by the Chicago Bears would be a better fit. The parade will start on a route that marches along Monroe Street, starting at Jefferson Street and ending at Michigan Avenue.
“The City of Chicago is so proud of the Blackhawks, which is why we are going to throw them a celebration that only Chicago can throw, a celebration worthy of a hockey dynasty,” Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a statement.
Tickets for the rally went on sale today at 12 p.m. CST, and with the four ticket limit, sold out within minutes.
The free tickets are now on the secondary market for a huge markup.
Those lucky enough to get tickets took to twitter to celebrate.

It’s a shame the Blackhawks went the route they did, instead of using Grant Park. With rain in the forecast all most all day for Chicago, those thinking of spending the extra money may be better off staying home and staying dry, watching from the comforts of their own couch.
