Arsenal Looking Better at the Emirates

Arsenal have forgotten about their last defeat at home, which was against Monaco in Champions League play. Looking to get closer to second place, where Manchester City sits, has been looking more promising for the Gunners.

The Hammers were looking to counter attack and let Arsenal have ball possession throughout the game. It took the Gunners the whole first half to finally breakthrough the West Ham defense. In a wonderful combination by Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey, Oliver Giroud was able to find the back of the goal at minute 45′ on a shot that went in off the woodwork.

Arsene Wenger and his Gunners came into the second half to look for another goal and guarantee the three points. There was not a goal from both sides until the last 10 minutes of the game. On a throw-in for Arsenal, Giroud found Ramsey and after a “dummy.” Giroud connected well with him on a “one-two” and Aaron Ramsey struck the back of the net, to make it 2-nil.

After the 3-nil lead, Arsenal found another goal three minutes later on a great run by Santi Cazorla, who put a low ball across that was found by Mathieu Flamini and sealed the 3-0 win for the Gunners.

With this victory, Arsenal sits one point behind Manchester City who failed to get a point against Burnley. West Ham United continue to sit in 10th place. Arsenal has a tough away game next week in the round of 16s for the Champions League at Monaco. After seeing this beautiful performance by Arsenal, it shows us that the Gunners will not go down without a fight against Monaco. They are more inspired than ever as they attempt to push themselves into the next round of the Champions League.
