Los Angeles Angels’ pitcher Tyler Skaggs has passed away this Monday morning in Texas, as reported by the organization. Skaggs was just 27.

Skaggs made his MLB debut at age 20 with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Angels pitcher made his last start on the mound this past Saturday against the Oakland Athletics where he went 4.1 innings, giving up 2 runs, and striking out 5.

The Angels were set to face the Texas Rangers on the road this week, but the first game of the series has been canceled.

Skaggs started in 96 games in his career and had a 28-38 record on the mound. He was on pace to top his highs in innings pitched and strikeouts. The lefty was getting back on track recently, giving up just 3 runs in his last three starts.

Police found Skaggs unresponsive at a hotel in South Lake Forth Worth. There is no suspicion of foul play.
