Yesterday was a hectic day for the NHL. Starting early Wednesday with the tragic shootings in Ottawa, which postponed the scheduled contest between the Senators and Maple Leafs. The chaos carried into the night. On NBCSN’s Rivalry Night, the Philadelpha Flyers marched into Pittsburgh, just 24 hours after a 4-0 shutout loss to the Blackhawks, and picked up the tough road win 5-3.

- The postponed Leafs-Senators game has been rescheduled for Sunday Nov. 9th at 6 pm EST in Ottawa.

Charlie Coyle and the Minnesota Wild have come to terms on a new. 5-year $16 million contract extention. The 22 year old winger, former first round pick of the 2011 draft, is now locked down through the 2019-20 season. This is just another step for the Wild in securing their young talent for the future.

An update from Slava Voynov’s attorney blames the couples broken english which lead to Slava’s arrest. ”From everything they’ve both said to me, this didn’t amount to a crime,” attorney Craig Renetzky said. ”I think when the police understand what happened, their impression will be quite different.”

- Buffalo is now tied with the Carolina in the race for the #1 pick, with 2 points. The winless Hurricanes travel to Calgary tonight, while the Sabres continue their California road trip in Los Angeles. I don’t see either team winning tonight.
