Two Games Away From Winning It All

The Red Sox defeated the Dodgers at Fenway once again to take a two game lead in the World Series.

A Tight Ballgame At Jersey Street

David Price and Hyun-Jin Ryu meet at the pitching mound for the second of the World Series.

Both starters had a strong start on the mound. The Dodgers left a man on base to start the ballgame ad Price walked David Freese in the first inning. Meanwhile, Ryu retired the side in order.

Price retired Los Angeles in order with a pair of strikeouts. The Korean lefty  struggled to start the second inning as Xander Bogaerts hit a double off him with one out in the frame.Ian Kinsler the singled to bring home Bogaerts and put the Red Sox on the lead. Jackie Bradley Jr. followed that with a single of his own but Kinsler was caught in third to end the top frame.of the second. Both teams left a man on base on the third inning. The Red Sox were up by one through three innings of play.

Martinez Gives Red Sox The Lead

Price struggled to begin the fourth. The Red Sox’s lefty gave consecutive singles to Freese and Manny Machado. He walked Chris Taylor to load up the bases. Matt Kemp then hit a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded to tie the score at one. Price struck out Enrique Hernandez for the second out, he was not out of trouble yet as Yasiel Puig singled to bring home another run. On the other hand, Ryu had no trouble against Boston as he retired the side in order. Dodgers were up 2-1 after four.

The Red Sox went on offense right away at the bottom of the fifth with a couple of singles by Christian Vazquez and Mookie Betts. Andrew Benintendi then worked out a walk to load up the bases. Ryu left the game after 4.2 innings pitched and Ryan Madson replaced him on the pitching mound. J.D. Martinez hit a  two RBI single off the Dodgers’ reliever to get the Boston the lead once again. The Red Sox were back on top as they were up by two. Price was still in command on the sixth as he retired the side in order. Julio Urias came in to pitch the bottom of the sixth for the Dodgers and retired the side in order. The Red Sox were up 4-2 after two-thirds of play.

Boston Bullpen Comes Up Big

Joe Kelly started the seventh on the pitching mound for Boston. He had no trouble on the inning as he retired the side in order. Kenta Maeda replaced Urias in the bottom of the seventh inning. He got two men out and allowed a double to Betts before been pulled out of the game. Scott Alexander finished off the inning for Los Angeles.

Nathan Eovaldi got the call from the bullpen to begin the eighth. Eovaldi retired the side in order. Pedro Baez did the same for the Dodgers. Nonetheless, Los Angeles was once again running out of outs. Furthermore, Craig Kimbrel was up next on the mound for Boston. Kimbrel breezed through the final inning retiring the side in order and giving Boston a two game lead.

Where To Watch

Red sox and Dodgers will meet again in the third game of the World Series this Friday. The ballgame start at 8:09 PM E.T on FOX. Both teams will travel to the West Coast this Thursday.
