The NBA conference finals got under on Sunday Afternoon however the opening match up left many questioning their previous predictions. That answer would come quickly and intensely. Also The Rockets look to prove that they are for real.

Eastern Conference Finals Game 1

Game Summary

Game one of the East finals came down to two things one being the obvious ineptitude of the Cavaliers role players  and the tenacious Celtics defense on one LeBron James. The C’s brought the house and then some against the world’s best player. James scored just 15 points on 5/16 shooting including and uncharacteristic 0/5 from deep. James was off due in large part to the constant coverage of Marcus Morris. The Philly native was also impressive on the offensive end notching a double double with 21 points and 10 boards. The Cavs role players were virtually non existent scoring a combined 14 points from starters Smith, Korver, and Hill.

Game Summary

Game 1 of the Western Conference finals was one of the best games of the post season by far. A back and forth contest with many ebbs and flows. In the end the main difference was one Kevin Durant. The reigning finals MVP was magnificent and made sure he had answer for anything the top seeded rockets could muster. Although James Harden had a spectacular outing posting 41 points on 14 of 24 shooting however it wasn’t enough. Houston had no answer for Durant who sank clutch basket after clutch basket on his way to 37 points while shooting 50% from deep. The Warriors did an excellent job of keeping their composure after and early technical assessed to Draymond Green a minute into the game.

Final Score

Golden State 119 Houston 106
