Manchester City join Chelsea and Manchester United in race for £24m rated Barcelona star

Gerard Pique

According to reports in Spain, Manchester City have joined a list of other English Premiership teams interesting in signing Barcelona defender Gerard Pique.

The Spanish defender is said to have fallen out of favor under Luis Enrique as he prefers to play both Javier Mascherano and Jeremy Mathieu in the center.

This has lead several clubs to believe that the Barcelona defender could return to the Premiership. Manchester United and Chelsea were said to be favorites to sign Pique, but the ex-Manchester United is now linked with Manchester City. Although those top EPL clubs are interested in signing the 27-year old Pique, he could choose to stay at Camp Nou, and has stated that he is not thinking about leaving. He has been a lifelong Barcelona fan and understandably wants to stay there.

It is understood that £24m should be enough to tempt the Catalonia club.
