Florida State just finished their regular season with a perfect record. They have also now won 28 games in a row. The wins this season have not been pretty. In fact, some of them have been downright ugly. Here is a look at their close wins this year:
Oklahoma State (5-6) 37-31

Notre Dame (7-5) 31-27
Miami (6-5) 30-26
Boston College (7-5) 20-17
Florida (6-5) 24-19
Many individuals would argue that Florida State could have lost up to SIX games this year. However, Florida State will point to the score board and show all their wins. They stand at the end of the season with a 12-0 record, and are the only team in college football with a perfect record. They are the only team in the nation that has a consecutive win total at 28. They are a team that is finding a way to win.
Today’s game was a perfect example. Their rival came into their stadium and Florida State struggled mightily, with a look at the numbers proving it:
Jameis Winston was 12 of 24 for 126 yards, with only 2 TD’s and 4 INT’s. He carried the ball 7 times for only 16 yards and was kept out of the end zone. Dalvin Cook was the only bright spot, carrying the ball 24 times for 140 yards. Total offensive yards showed the Seminoles with a slight edge: 308 to 283.
Ultimately, all that mattered is that Florida State won again and they will face Georgia Tech in the ACC championship and wait for the Playoff Committee to give them a call and congratulate them on being one of the four teams in the inaugural college playoff.
