Alex Barlow and Kelan Martin led the Butler Bulldogs to the TKO of the University of North Carolina basketball team on Wednesday. The Butler team played an aggressive style of ball and had grit to hold on to the win. They won the game with the final score being 74-66.

In the end Barlow and Martin spurred the offense to victory. They both had 17 points, respectively. In the end, it was their three point shooting that propelled them to the victory. Combined, they shot 7 of 13 from the 3 point line.

The defense was top notch as they held UNC to 38% shooting and they put the clamps down on Marcus Paige. He struggled all day and finished the game with 5 of 17 from the field.

Butler  really crashed the boards, finishing the game with 46 rebounds. 25 of them were on the defensive end while grabbing an impressive 21 on the offensive.

One of the impressive aspects of Butler’s win is that they did so with an off day from one of their prominent leaders, Kellen Dunham. Dunham, who came into the game with a 17 point average, was held to 11 points. Those points came on a terrible shooting day where he was 3 of 17 from the field, including 1 of 10 from the 3 point line. Despite his struggles, they won which is a great sign for the Bulldogs. This game showed that they can still beat the big guys even with Dunham not playing on all cylinders.

Butler looks to be on track for another great season and they are now a team to put on your radar.
