Manchester City, without any hopes of a Premier League title or any domestic cup, are playing to get as many points to participate in the Champions League next year. Individually, several players are playing to continue with the club. We know Manchester City is known for spending lots of money on players and with a bad season like this one, we guarantee that some players will be leaving and some new faces will emerge. Rumors are that Manuel Pellegrini is the first one to leave after this season. Today, they faced 15th place Aston Villa. who are currently not safe from relegation and needed to get some valuable points against the Citizens.

Things started positive for the Citizens as Sergio Aguero took advantage of a huge mistake caused by Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan on the third minute. They played a ball back to Guzan who tried to switch the ball to the other side with his left foot and ended up giving an awful pass and all Sergio Aguero had to do was tap it in.

After the goal, Aston Villa had more ball possession but were not able to find the back of the net. Manchester City was not playing well but were up one nil. Minute 65′, Manchester City took advantage of a free kick position. Once again, another mistake and this time by Aston Villa’s wall. The wall did not get together and Aleksandar Kolarov was able to curl in a left footed shot between the wall into the back of Guzan’s net.

Aston Villa reacted quickly and within three minutes they were able to score their first goal of the match. Tom Cleverly shot outside the eighteen after a bad clearance from Manchester City on a free kick taken by Aston Villa.

Five minutes before the end of the game, Aston Villa found the equalizer. Carlos Sanchez scored his first goal in the Premier League after an unsuccessful clearance by the Citizens on a corner kick.

The Citizens, with five minutes left, went to look for the third goal that would give them the three points, and they found it. Minute 88′, after not being able to control a corner kick, Fernandinho was forced to scissor a shot that was able to find the back of the net, giving the Citizens the 3-2 victory.
