One of the biggest problems plaguing the now 3-4 Dallas Cowboys has been their inconsistent to non-existent passing game. Dallas’ wide out production has been less than impressive through their early 2018 campaign. However, now it looks as if that will change.
What Went Down
Oakland pass catcher Amari Cooper has been traded to the Dallas Cowboys for a 1st round pick. This makes three first round picks the Raiders have acquired in as many months. Although, Dallas is in desperate need of help outside, many believe the price may have been too steep. Cooper has struggled as of late, hauling in just 22 catches for 280 yards and a single score. The Raiders are an anemic 1-5 on the season and seems to have bailed on Cooper making any kind of resurgence.
Gruden Cleaning House
Coach Jon Gruden seems to be cleaning house in his second stint as Raiders head coach. Furthermore, this is the third star, and prominent player, he has let walk out the door in his return. These instances have bitten the Super Bowl XXXVII winner in the backside. The Raiders’ moves have proved to be disastrous and has many questioning whether ”Chucky” is worth what Oakland paid for this latest sequel.
Seller’s Remorse
First long time kicker Sebastian Janikowski doesn’t get resigned, only to latch on in Seattle where he kicked the game winning field goal against, you guessed it, Gruden’s Raiders. Second, he traded away the league’s best pass rusher and defensive player Khalil Mack to Chicago, only to complain after getting abused by the Rams in week 1, claiming “it’s hard to find a pass rush”. Finally, Cooper is sent to the Cowboys and only time will tell how this move will inevitably come to negatively impact the silver and black.
