AFC East Week 8 Recap

The AFC East race is as tight as ever after a tough week 8. The Patriots picked up a big win against the Chargers, Buffalo mauled the Raiders  and the Dolphins were destroyed by the Ravens .

Buffalo Bills

The Bills came off their big victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with a solid performance against the Raiders. LeSean McCoy ran for 151 yards and a score enabling the Bills to pick up a 34-14 win. Buffalo sits at 5-2 ust a half game behind division leading New England.

A Look Ahead

Next up for Buffalo is an battle with division rival New York. This will be a good test for the Bills secondary that will have to deal with a red hot Austin Seferian-Jenkins and a revitalized Josh McCown. As it stands the Bills are a 3.5 home favorite.

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins were beat down by the Baltimore Ravens. The embarrassing effort was highlighted by a plethora of dirty plays by Kiko Alonso and Ndamukong Suh . Constant over agressive play on defenese combined with an anemic offense led to 40-0 final score.

A Look Ahead

Next week the Dolphins take on the Raiders in a game the Raiders need to win badly. The winner of this game cand put themselves in a good spot and save their dwindling playoff hopes. As it stands Miami is a 3 point underdog.

New York Jets

The Jets lost a tough one to Atlanta, coming up just 5 points short. Austin Seferian-Jenkins caught another handfull of passes but it wasn’t enough to hold the Falcons. With this loss the Jets are now 3 games behind the Patriots in the AFC East at 3-5 look up from the division cellar.

A Look Ahead

Next week the Jets looked to right the ship against a Buffalo team that is riding high. This may be the biggest test for the Jets offense as the Bills lead the league in take aways. As of now New York is an early 3.5 point underdog.

New England Patriots

The defending Super Bowl Champions picked up a key victory at home against the Chargers. The Pats led from the second quarter on and it what wasn’t a really competitive game. New edition Brandin Cooks only had 5 catches for 26 yards but it was enough. The Patriots continue to looke like the team to beat in the AFC but only time will tell.

A Look Ahead

Next week the Patriots will be on the bye. New England should take this time to get their quarter back situation in check. After trading back up QB Jimmy Garoppolo to San Francisco the Pats are left with jist one signal caller. Even though Tom Brady has shown no signs of slowing down they still need an insurance policy.
